Fushimi Inari Taisha

교토에서 가장 많이 사진에 담기는 명소 — 기업이나 개인이 봉헌한 수천 개의 주홍빛 도리이가 이나리산의 숲이 우거진 비탈을 오르는 터널을 이루고 있다. 본전 건물들도 그 자체로 인상적이지만, 사람들이 이곳을 찾는 이유는 바로 이 도리이 터널이다.

The shrine grounds are open 24 hours and admission is free. Arrive before 7am or after dusk to see the Senbon Torii tunnel without the crowds that build through the day. The full loop to the summit and back takes 2–3 hours; most visitors turn back after the first 20–30 minutes at Yotsutsuji intersection, which is also where the crowds thin out sharply. It's an uphill hike with steps throughout, so wear proper shoes.
