Sake Bar Yoramu

A small, wood-panelled Gion sake bar with a rotating list made up entirely of Japanese sake, run by an owner happy to talk visitors through unfamiliar regional styles.

Seating is limited to a handful of counter seats, so it's better for a quiet couple of drinks than a group night out. Staff are used to explaining sake to newcomers in English. A good stop before or after dinner in Gion or Pontocho.
